Karin Roginer Hofmeister is a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer in Holocaust Studies at Charles University, where she also coordinates the Malach Centre for Visual History. She holds a Ph.D. in Area Studies from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University. Her research focuses on contemporary history and memory politics in Southeastern Europe, particularly the role of the Serbian Orthodox Church as a mnemonic actor. She explores the intersection of memory, religion, and religious institutions in post-secular societies. Her monograph, Remembering Suffering and Resistance: Memory Politics and the Serbian Orthodox Church, was published in 2024 by CEU Press. She is a recipient of the Claims Conference Teaching Fellowship and a researcher in the Horizon Europe project MEMORISE, dedicated to preserving heritage related to Nazi persecution. She co-leads the GA ČR-funded project Negotiating “Serbhood”, which examines contested memory narratives in the post-Yugoslav space. Most recently, she has taken on leadership of the Serbian case in the MEMCRIS project (Displacement and (Post)secular Memory), funded by the NCN (Poland) and GA ČR. Roginer Hofmeister has participated in international academic exchange, serving as a visiting fellow at the University of Belgrade, the University of Graz, and the Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) in Regensburg.
