Call for Papers: Transnational Memory Cultures and American Studies - 2022 Postgraduate Forum (PGF) of the German Association for American Studies (GAAS/DGfA)
The ScienceCampus is pleased to be supporting the 32nd Annual Conference of the Postgraduate Forum (PGF) of the German Association for American Studies (GAAS/DGfA), scheduled for 9-12 November, and taking place in Regensburg. The call for papers is open until 18 September 2022.
Regensburg will play host this November to the 32nd Annual Conference of the Postgraduate Forum (PGF) of the German Association for American Studies (GAAS/DGfA). The theme for this year's conference is "Transnational Memory Cultures and American Studies". The call for papers can be found here. The deadline for submissions is 18 September 2022.
The focus of the conference is on transnational memory cultures, thus the event provides an opportunity for exchanges that transcend American Studies, while also enabling reflections on the development of the field of American Studies. Some key questions include: What roles do academic research and education play in cultures of memory and remembering? What are the transnational dimensions of cultural memory? What are our responsibilities as emerging scholars, as teachers, as human beings in shaping cultures of memory? What are the possible pasts, presents, and futures of memory studies as American studies?
The call is open to early career researchers. The organisers include two ScienceCampus doctoral researchers, alongside colleagues from our partners at REAF and Regensburg American Studies. The ScienceCampus is pleased to be supporting the event.
