Today the ScienceCampus launched a new project: Frictions: Europe, America and Global Transformations. It is a blogjournal – a hybrid format of blog and e-journal – discussing Europe and the Americas in the context of global transformations. The first contributions will go live in November.

We welcome contributions (in English and German) from scholars, policymakers, journalists, artists and others who engage with themes, concepts, and approaches relating to “Frictions” in the European, North American, Transatlantic and Global contexts.

  • The Essays section publishes fully-referenced, peer-reviewed articles of around 3000-4000 words.
  • The Notes section features comment pieces on salient current events and contributions outlining ongoing and developing research projects, including methodological, conceptual and theoretical explorations as well as findings from empirical and field research.
  • The Debates section features interviews, conference reports, reviews of exhibitions, films and other cultural works, and discussions of recent publications.

For Notes and Debates we also welcome more experimental formats including photo-reportages or video-reportages.

Get in touch with the editorial board at frictions@europeamerica.de with your ideas for contributions. The blog is open to contributors from Regensburg and around the world.
