Congratulations to Markus Diepold on the successful defence of his doctoral thesis. The ScienceCampus was proud to support his work with a writing-up grant.

Congratulatoins to Markus Diepold, who defended his doctoral thesis on 18 March. Titled, "No Knife Near our Dish": Hospitality and Food in 18th-century Haudenosaunee-European Diplomacy, his work offers valuable insights into early American history. He was supervised by Prof. Volker Depkat (Regensburg) and Prof. Michael A. LaCombe (Adelphi).
His research was funded through the DFG award, “Entangled Objects? Die materielle Kultur der Diplomatie in transkulturellen Verhandlungsprozessen im 18. Jahrhundert,” which also involved Prof. Harriet Rudolph and Gamze İlaslan-Koç at the University of Regensburg.
